Welcome to the blog — a fresh look and a lot of new features
We gave Binder Placeholders a new look and shipped some of our biggest features yet — multiple binders, custom card art, and watermark-free printing. Here's the tour.
Binder Placeholders started as a simple way to fill the gaps in your binder while you hunt for the real cards. It's grown a lot since then — so we're starting a blog to share what's new, why we build things the way we do, and tips for getting the most out of your collection.
To kick things off, here's a look at what's landed recently.
A fresh look
The whole app got a design refresh — cleaner layouts, better typography, and a navigation bar that finally behaves on smaller laptops and phones. Everything should feel a little faster and a lot more polished, from the set galleries to the binder editor.
More binders, synced across your devices
Every binder now syncs to your account, so it follows you across devices instead of living in a single browser. Free accounts include one binder — plenty to get started — and Collector members can create as many as they like: one per set, one for graded slabs, one for the cards you're chasing. Switch between them from the Binders page.
Make it your own with custom card art
Sometimes a data placeholder isn't enough. Collector members can now upload custom images for any slot — proxy art, promo scans, or a photo of the real card sitting in a friend's binder. Upload, crop to fit the pocket, and it prints right alongside everything else. Want a centerpiece? A tile can span two pockets and prints as one continuous image across the binder seam.
Print without the watermark
Building and printing are still free. When you want a clean, watermark-free print, you've got options:
- Print Passes — a one-time purchase; each pass makes one binder export watermark-free. Passes never expire.
- Collector / Pro subscriptions — unlimited watermark-free printing across all your binders.
Checkout is handled by Polar, our merchant of record, so your receipts and taxes are taken care of. See pricing for the details.
Plus a pile of smaller wins
A lot changed under the hood, too:
- A variant picker when adding cards, so placeholders match exactly what you collect — normal, reverse holo, holo, or 1st edition.
- Mobile support for the binder editor, with a bottom-sheet card search.
- Market prices right in the set gallery panel.
- A redesigned graded-card slab print view and clearer placeholder layouts that hold up on real paper.
- Select a whole set as owned in a couple of taps.
Placeholders keep your binder looking complete while you track down the real cards — now with more ways to make it yours.
